In collaboration with Washington College's Center for Environment & Society (CES), the DSMP team had the opportunity to install an exhibit of its Kent County museum collaborations to date. The exhibit includes interactive exhibit banners from the Betterton Heritage Museum, the Worton Point Schoolhouse, the Waterman's Museum, and Sumner Hall as well as panels about the DSMP project itself. The exhibit also features a new curved projection theatre which creates an immersive environment in which to experience the virtual tours for the above museums as well as the in-development virtual tour for this year's DSMP partner, Kent Museum.
The exhibit opened on October 6, 2023 and an opening reception was held for museum and community stakeholders and supporters on October 12, 2023.
The exhibit is on view at 210 Cross St., Chestertown, MD. The exhibit is open First Fridays 5-8pm; every Saturday 9-11am; and by appointment. Cultural Heritage organizations are encouraged to reserve time in the space to hold meetings. Additionally, scanning the QR codes on the exterior windows of the exhibit will allow access to digital versions of the exhibit even when the space is closed.
