The Digital Scholarship in Museum Partnerships project was one of three recipients of the Making an Impact Award from the Mid-Atlantic Association of Museums (MAAM).
MAAM announced its 2024 Award Recipients in a press release in September. From that press release, "MAAM acknowledges that Museums are made up of strong and active teams that work together to achieve lasting impact in their communities. To that end, the Making an Impact Award honors museums and institutions as a whole for developing either a program, exhibition, or special project that displays responsiveness and resourcefulness and have resulted in creative change for their organizations and a positive impact on their communities. In the seven years since its conception, the Digital Scholarship in Museum Partnerships Project at Washington College has revitalized several volunteer-run museums in Kent County by increasing accessibility to their collections both online and in person. So far, over 150 students have aided these sites in telling the story of rural America."
The DSMP team was honored to be amongst the recipients of this year's awards. We truly proud of what we've been able to accomplish together with our partner museums, students and community partners.
